Position Summary

Advanced Nutrients is looking for a Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for completing work orders and repairs for the plant and production facility. Maintenance Technicians will complete preventative maintenance procedures to ensure repairs are minimized. This role will troubleshoot and diagnose repairs while completing modifications and improvements as needed in accordance with guidelines and supervisor instructions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance.

Locates sources of problems by observing, testing, and monitoring mechanical devices in operation.

Escalating complex repairs to Maintenance supervisor for review or guidance

Determines changes in requirements of parts and components by inspection and measuring of various instruments.

Helps maintain inventories of equipment parts and supplies to maintain the production and plant facility.

Assists and educates production employees on daily preventative tasks.

Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and request.

Prepares maintenance reports by collecting all required information.

Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with all procedures, rules and regulations.

Other assigned tasks as needed by the department.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

The incumbent must possess:

Knowledge in CMMS.

Knowledge and compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Knowledge of basic production machines and tools.

Skills/Abilities

The incumbent must have:

Ability to troubleshoot and research mechanical, electrical and pneumatic problems.

Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools.

Ability to multitask and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Ability to embrace lean enterprise principles and practices.

Must be able to pass the Basic Maintenance Assessment within 90 days of employment.

Automotive Repair experience is a plus!

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Activities

Position requires standing, lifting, pulling, and managing heavy equipment and objects.

There will be the frequent requirements of stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, and climbing.

Adjusting or moving objects up to 50-70 pounds in all directions.

Communicating with others to exchange information.

Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

Environmental Conditions

Low temperatures.

High temperatures.

Noisy environments.
