OverviewTEC is seeking a mechanically inclined individual to lead our reconditioning and detail group in our Used Truck Sales department. This person should be able to lead a team that is in charge of reconditioning and detailing trucks inside and out, fueling trucks, and may do some light truck repairs. This is a great opportunity for someone who knows the fundamentals of preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles and is looking to grow. The Lead should enjoy working outdoors, perform challenging physical labor with attention to detail, and communicate clearly with their team.

Responsibilities

Oversee the detail team, assisting with mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance as necessary.

Maintain vehicle performance by replenishing all vehicle fluids as needed, replacing batteries, changing windshield blades, and completing additional maintenance as deemed necessary.

Inspect each vehicle for damage that may have occurred during the vehicle’s stay on TEC’s property.

Conduct all work with the highest priority on safety of self and others.

Ensure the parking lot is free from hazards and debris and perform other miscellaneous duties.

Greet every customer with authenticity and warmth.

Remember that the time the vehicle is not ready for sale is money lost for the Used Truck Department.

Qualifications

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

Ability to identify basic truck repairs and report the findings to the service team.

Knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems is a plus.

Inspect detail quality to ensure the vehicle is ready to be sold.

Knowledge of oil change process, mudflap replacement, light bulb replacement, and air brakes preferred.

Entry-level service technician experience preferred.

Valid driver's license and able to meet insurance requirements.

Ability to perform work in a safe and alert state of mind at all times.

Maintain predictable and reliable attendance and work in a safe and alert manner.

Ability to provide own hand tools is a plus.

CompensationThe base pay range for this position is $21.71 to $27.14.
