Quality Inspector III

performs electrical and mechanical inspection of parts, subassemblies, and finished goods to ensure conformance to specification using precision inspection equipment. Conducts advanced measurement inspections to support Product Development and Engineering functions.Demonstrates behavior consistent with the company’s values of Customer Satisfaction, Innovation, Family, and Social Responsibility.Essential Job Functions/Tasks:Collects product samples and prepare them for laboratory testing or inspection within multiple quality department areas (e.g., component inspection, finished goods, warranty, receiving inspection).Inspects and functionally test materials, parts, subassemblies, finished goods and packaging. Compares inspection results to specifications/product requirements to ensure compliance.Rejects and isolates products not meeting quality specifications, notify appropriate team members of discrepancies, and records non-conformances per internal processes.Enters data, maintains records, and routes reports using appropriate software.Communicates with internal customers to exchange information regarding products, materials, and services to support improvements and root-cause analysis.Counts or estimates quantities of materials, parts, and products.Compares product labels, tags, or tickets, shipping manifests, purchase orders, and bills of lading to verify accuracy of shipment contents, quality specifications, and weights.Performs inventory transactions in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, when applicable.Where appropriate, confirms packaging specifications are met, and re-packages materials as necessary to meet specifications.Participates in efforts to improve quality documentation focused on strengthening the overall quality management system.Interprets engineering drawings and complete advance measurements such as First Article inspections (FAI), gage reproducibility and repeatability (GRR), capability studies (Cpk, Ppk), and shrink studies.Participates in the process of selecting inspection equipment and techniques for both production and new product introduction.Troubleshoots measurement equipment including automated routines on OGP and Micro-Vu systems.Trains and mentors other inspectors to perform essential job functions.Provides support in coordinating daily activities, work assignments, material requirements, and scheduling changes as requested by the Supervisor.Keeps work area clean and orderly.Must be able to work overtime as determined by the supervisor.Education/Training Required and Preferred:High School diploma or equivalent.Associate’s degree or equivalent training in a technical field preferred.Experience Required and Preferred:Minimum 5 years as an electrical/mechanical inspector, or equivalent education and experience.Within Hunter Industries, minimum 2 years as a Quality Inspector II or equivalent.What You Bring:Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Ability to work within a team environment and demonstrate professional behavior.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Intermediate computer skills including knowledge of all major Microsoft Office applications.Ability to use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles).Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.Knowledge of math and statistical techniques. Compensation offered to the successful candidate will be determined by qualifications, prior experience, other job-related factors, and geographic location.
