Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Novelis has approximately 13,000 employees in 32 operating facilities on 4 continents.Responsibilities & Qualifications:Our Lincolnshire, Illinois facility is seeking to add a hard-working Supply Chain Production Planner to our Supply Chain team. The purpose of this role is to perform activities in the areas of planning, production scheduling, inventory control, logistics, and customer service in an efficient manner.Responsibilities:Maintains a safe working environment by aligning with Novelis EHS standards and policies, all state and federal regulations, and company policies and procedures.Performs Production Planning & Scheduling activities in support of a 24/7 production operation.Performs logistics planning and scheduling activities.Performs inventory control activities including tracking WIP levels to monitor supply shortfall risk and cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory.Supports the new items and specifications process.Produces dashboard reports and other statistical reporting.Fills in for other Production and Logistics Planners as needed.Performs timely customer communication for both internal and external customers.Participates in continuous improvement teams and drive initiatives.Works within the parameters created by the ISO9001:2015 quality system.Performs all other duties and projects as assigned and required by the Supply Chain Leader.Minimum Qualifications:Associates Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.Knowledge of production planning and control in a manufacturing environment.An understanding of business and management principles, leadership strategies, and strategic planning.Familiarity with the principles of supply chain management.One to three years of detailed business experience as a supply chain professional.Knowledge of business systems.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with the ability to use logic, math, and database tools to support initiatives.Computer proficient, i.e., pivot tables, Access, data conversion with the ability to present functional specifications to the IT Department.Ability to work independently with minimal direction.Ability to achieve timely results, balance multiple tasks and objectives, and manage change.Willing to provide constructive feedback, provide information clearly, and generate solutions.Preferred Qualifications:Related manufacturing and logistics experience a plus.Ability to learn new software packages quickly and apply knowledge to daily tasks and projects.Ability to demonstrate effective team leadership and team membership skills.Familiarity with ERP systems and planning tools.Possess a strong customer orientation.Possess strong decision-making and problem-solving skills including the ability to solve problems while exhibiting practical judgment and realistic understanding of the issues involved.Overcome obstacles and find reasonable resolutions to situations on a case-by-case basis as encountered.Exercise discretion when determining if direction from manager is needed.Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Recognize data needed to make decisions, collect data, and analyze to determine direction in which to proceed. The facility cold rolls aluminum to desired gauges, anneals to temper levels, and slits the rolled sheet to size. The facility, which employs around 100 people, produces mill finish coils for the building construction and transportation industries where its products are used for gutters, siding, soffits, and facia.
