Nashville Rescue Mission is actively seeking an

Assistant Director

to join our Men's Life Recovery Program team. Are you the right person?

The Assistant Director is responsible for maintaining the program's safe environment by managing and protecting the day-to-day operation and schedule of the Men’s Life Recovery Program. The Assistant Director also provides support to the staff, acts on the Director’s behalf in their absence, and upholds the Mission's Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct.

Essential Duties:

Maintains and clarifies program standards according to handbook.

Confronts and counsels interpersonal issues of staff, volunteers, and program participants, working to keep conflict within the program to a minimum.

Leads meetings with program staff to maintain clear communication about program participant issues, progress, and takes necessary actions to assure quality of program participant recovery.

Assigns programmatic tasks evenly among program staff and follows through to completion.

Works with Therapy/Life Coaching team to carry out program goals.

Teaches core curriculum classes regularly and leads devotionals and chapel service as needed.

Provides supportive one-on-one and group counseling regularly or as needed.

Regularly evaluates, reports, and provides advice to the Director in the pursuit of excellence.

Represents the program and Nashville Rescue Mission to the public in an ongoing professional manner.

Participates in special events, activities, and meetings, including staff meetings, training, and assigned committees as required by the Director.

Regular attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position.

Other Duties:

May serve as a Life Coach:

Meets three times per week for 45 to 50-minute group counseling/training sessions.

Meets with each participant on their caseload once per week for 45 to 50-minute sessions.

Develops, maintains, and secures documentation as per counseling overview on each client.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS/BA from an accredited college or university in Theology, Social Services or related area with 2-3 years’ experience in recovery or life transformation programs; or 10 years of relevant work experience and demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position.

Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, as well as general office skills.

Strong public speaking/communication skills.

Strong management and personal interactive skills.

Requires an enthusiastic personality who can develop harmonious relationships with staff, participants, volunteers, and community leaders.

Requires an individual with a sincere enjoyment of time spent with the program participants, an appreciation of their needs, and the knowledge of how to educate and implement specific training goals to assure each participant’s ability to function in an independent manner.

Have and maintain valid and current certifications for certain skills such as: Crisis Prevention, first aid, CPR, and Narcan. NRM will provide certifications.

Ability to qualify as a designated Mission vehicle driver under Nashville Rescue Mission's insurance policy:

Valid driver’s license

Have no more than two moving violations in a 3-year period or more than one accident in a 1-year period

Proof of insurance on personal vehicle (current)
