Senior Consultant, Site Solutions/Emerging Contaminants

No sponsorship is available for this position.Ramboll US Consulting, Inc. is a leading scientific environmental consulting firm providing a broad range of technical services to both public and private sector clients. We are seeking motivated and qualified candidates to join our team in Princeton, New Jersey as an environmental senior consultant with a focus on emerging contaminants. Environmental consultants are typically engaged in projects that involve applying risk management strategies to support contaminated site decision-making under Federal, state, and international site cleanup programs. This position also includes monitoring and interpreting research and developments regarding emerging contaminants, including PFAS, to ensure Ramboll remains a leader in understanding, managing, and remediating potentially affected sites. Project roles for senior consultants include supporting and implementing site characterization and remedial action projects that involve potentially unacceptable human and ecological exposures to chemicals in soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water. Such projects may involve performing fate and transport modeling; statistical analysis; spatial analysis; developing remediation/risk management plans; and providing technical support for litigation and regulatory negotiations.Typical responsibilities include:Monitoring developments in regulatory guidance, site investigation tools, and remedial technologies for PFAS and other emerging contaminantsPerforming statistical and spatial data analysisModeling contaminant migration and exposure concentrationsConducting remedial alternatives analysisSupporting and implementing site characterizations and remedial actionsAssisting with the preparation of reports and other written communicationSupporting regulatory negotiations and the evaluation of technical documents (e.g., scientific articles, regulations)Required Skills and Preferred QualificationsFrom the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:Masters of Science or Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or Management, or related earth science discipline3-5 years of experience in site investigation and remediation.Experience with environmental regulatory programs, environmental sampling, and due diligence.Experience with document database management, and/or risk assessment is a plus.Strong analytical and quantitative skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsFamiliarity with spreadsheet, database, geographic information systems (GIS), and Power BI softwareOSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER trainedEngineering in Training (EIT) or Geologist in Training (GIT) certification is preferred.Familiarity or professional experience with human health risk assessment, environmental fate and transport modeling, environmental forensics, statistical data analysis and sampling design, or atmospheric dispersion modeling is a plus, but not required.Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work on multiple assignments simultaneouslyGreat time managementWillingness to work in diverse and multi-user team environmentsWillingness to occasionally work outdoors and travelRamboll in the AmericasRamboll has nearly 2,000 experts working across 50 offices in the Americas applying their passion to deliver innovative solutions within Environment & Health, Water, Energy and Planning & Urban Design.
