The EHS Q/A Compliance Manager position is responsible for establishing, implementing, communicating and training internal and external customers in safe work practices and compliance with OSHA requirements, and Axis policies and procedures. This role requires a deep understanding of federal and state regulations, industry best practices, and a proactive approach to ensuring safety and compliance through training, risk analysis, and audits.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and continually refine the corporate safety and compliance strategy to align with business goals and industry standards.Ensure compliance with all company, client, Department of Transportation (DOT), and OSHA and ATF regulations, policies, and procedures.Leads coordination of regular compliance audits and reviews to ensure adherence to compliance standardsEstablishes and communicate safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to all levels of the organization.Oversee administration of third-part procurement websites such as ISNetworld, Veriforce, Avetta.Monitor, interpret, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing motor carrier operations, including FMCSA regulations.Keep abreast of industry trends and changes in safety regulations to proactively adapt and mitigate risks.Lead the development and execution of comprehensive fleet safety programs, including driver training, behavior monitoring, accident investigation, and corrective action plans.Collaborate with the training team to create effective safety training modules for drivers and staff.Utilize data analysis to identify safety trends, risk factors, and areas for improvement.Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on safety and compliance metrics for management and regulatory reporting.Work with safety teams in districts on incident investigations, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and implementation of preventive measures.Interface with legal and insurance teams during claims management and resolution.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, human resources, safety teams, and maintenance, to foster a culture of safety and compliance.Conduct regular safety meetings, workshops, and training sessions to promote awareness and best practices.Engage with external partners, including regulatory agencies, safety consultants, and technology providers, to stay current with industry developments.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance, reduce accidents, and optimize compliance processes.Implementing safety policies and procedures and training programsDirect auditing, reporting, safety inspections, administering safety policies, and implementing safety training programs.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.Extensive experience (8+ years) in compliance managementIn-depth knowledge of FMCSA regulations, HOS rules, ELD requirements, DOT & ATF compliance.Proven leadership skills and experience managing a safety and compliance team.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple priorities.Proficiency in using safety and compliance software, telematics systems, and data analysis tools.Strategic thinker with a strong commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in a complex and evolving transportation landscape
