Job Summary:A Business Intelligence Analyst, or Business Intelligence Specialist, is responsible for managing data retrieval and analysis within an organization. Their duties include organizing data points, communicating between upper management and the IT department, and analyzing data to determine a corporation's needs. This position will report directly to the Director of IT.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

A Business Intelligence Analyst has a diverse scope of duties and responsibilities depending on the nature of the organization. The primary duty of the Business Intelligence Analyst is to transform data into insight that can help to improve the value of the business. Other duties and responsibilities of a Business Intelligence Analyst within a company include:

Developing and managing business intelligence solutions for the organization.Providing reports through office applications to improve business processes.Creating KPIs and reporting packages for teams to provide insight into the organization to make strategic decisions.Collaborating with team members for the purpose of collecting data and executing the company's mission.Analyzing business requirements and processes and recommending them to the management and executives for implementation.Creating and maintaining documentation that includes the design, requirements, and user manuals for the organization.Identifying the development needs for the purpose of streamlining and improving the operations of the organization for efficiency and profitability.Working with a variety of data sources - extracting knowledge and actionable information.Analyzing and building data models for use in regular and/or automated reporting and analysis.Being a passionate problem solver - breaking down problems and developing analytical insights.Conveying results to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.Evaluating operations for inefficiencies and identifying areas where you can create, automate, and develop tools.Supporting the business with ad hoc reporting.Participating in all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance windows.Continuously striving for a deeper understanding of our business drivers.Offering insight to all aspects of the organization – product, marketing, sales, ops, etc.Effectively communicating your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.Willingness and ability to train and teach others.

Requirements:

5+ years' experience using Power BI creating reports and the underlying data structures.7+ years supporting business operations in an analytics capacity.Proficiency with SQL.Great communication/presentation skills.

Nice to have:

Experience with Snowflake and 5Tran preferred.Experience in report writing within Hyperion is preferred.Fluency writing DAX Measures and Calculated Columns.Data Preparation: Fluency using Power Query and writing SQL queries for data preparation.Data Modeling: Relationships and DAX formulae across 15+ tables data models.Data Visualization Skills: being able to quickly provide meaningful insights from data, and apply best practices at reporting.Experience with M Language for Power Query.Experience with Power BI Paginated Report Builder.Solid Experience in Analysis, Design, Development, and Deployment of Hyperion Reports.A love for insights, innate curiosity, and a deep desire to find ways to create value.Solid communication skills.Passion for automation.Comfort in a complex data environment and understanding of data structures.Ability to organize and lead meetings with business and operational data owners.Ability to tell a story to the end user using data.Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve data issues.Work independently and with team members to understand database structure and business processes.Documenting all Power BI new and already existing assets, processes, and procedures.BA or BS in statistics, math, computer science, physics, or other technical related field; Master's degree is preferred.Excellent presentation, writing, and Excel skills are a must.
