Position Summary

The pilot in command reports to the lead captain regarding company operating policies and procedures. The pilot in command is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of the flight assignment with the emphasis on safety, security, and quality. Will exercise pilot in command authority of all flights to which they are assigned and are the final authority for the safe conduct of the flight.Minimum Requirements

Safely operate the aircraft, determine departure times and routes, and/or cancel flights based on weather or other conditionsEnsure that the flight is conducted in complete compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations and policies and proceduresInstitute all necessary changes as required by en route conditions such that the flight may continue under appropriate company policies, procedures and rulesResponsible for conducting the flight in a safe and prudent manner in accordance with industry and company standardsAccurate completion of all trip paperwork in accordance with current proceduresResponsible for ensuring a thorough and complete understanding with the second in command regarding all aspects of flightRecord all aircraft discrepancies as they occur on the aircraft discrepancy log and immediately report these discrepancies to the director of maintenance or their designee as soon as possible. Refer to the approved MEL and as directed by the DOM or his designee determine if the inoperative item can be deferred or needs to be repaired and completes the aircraft discrepancy log as requiredDetermine that the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and that they are mentally and physically fit for dutyMaintain a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems which they are authorized to operate to include all emergency systems and procedures associated with the aircraftSecure the aircraft after each flight to include arranging hangar storage if they deem necessary or they are instructed to do so by the company managementObtain the most current weather reports, forecasts and NOTAMS from a FAA flight service station or other authorized agencyFile or cause a flight plan to be filed with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facilityAnalyze area, enroute and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternatesPerform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator {ISC) under the provision of the twelve five standard security program or private charter standard security program as applicableConduct the required passenger safety briefings or assign that duty to the second in commandImpart knowledge and skills to the second in command to prepare them to assume the duties of Pilot in Command in an emergency or when the second in command upgrades to pilot in command in that aircraftComplete and send the leg manifest to ops control prior to each departureComplete and send the End of DAY {EOD) report to ops control upon completion of each flight dayResponsible for taking an active role supporting the open sharing of information on all safety issues and reporting all safety hazards and concernsResponsible for making an immediate report in any hazardous action, conduct or event to the chief pilot and director of safetyThe pilot in command may delegate these duties but not the responsibility for those dutiesOther duties may be required, as neededRepresent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies and the General Dynamics network.Desired Characteristics

The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.The posted salary ranges will default to that of your regional location and will not include any premiums.
