We are committed to creating an environment where all employees are included, treated with dignity and respect, and in a position to contribute to protecting the health of all Californians.Job Description And DutiesUnder the general supervision of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) in either the Fiscal Reconciliation Unit or the Fiscal Compliance Unit, the Research Data Analyst (RDA) II works independently as an expert analyst, providing advice, grant tracking development tools, and data analysis. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required and should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software such as Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.The RDA II acts in a lead capacity in the development of complex estimates for the Governor’s Budget and annual process by incorporating background, key assumptions, methodology descriptions and proposed funding. Provides guidance and technical assistance in the analysis of related caseload and expenditure data to determine shifts and trends by using and interpreting the data available through the estimate process, the Department’s data collection system, and any external resources available to the Department. Projects include, but are not limited to, developing reports; internal/external fiscal requests; research and developing estimating methodologies for allocating resources; analyzing expenditures; providing budgetary expertise; analyzing and interpreting State and Federal laws and regulations.The attached duty statement indicates whether this position is eligible for telework. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200, and may be required to report to a CDPH office when needed. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment.
