They will act as an active member of the front desk team when needed.Job Posting DeadlineApplications for this position will be accepted until October 9, 2024.Essential Job FunctionsTrain and monitor staffWelcome guests upon their arrival and assign roomsProvide information about the hotel, available rooms, rates, and amenitiesWork in our system “Alice” to impute maintenance requestsRespond to guests’ complaints in a timely and professional mannerSelect and block rooms for arriving guests, book same day reservations, pre-register guests as required, and sometimes escort guests to their roomsCoordinate with housekeeping to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy, and fully-furnished to accommodate guests’ needsWork closely with the guest services agents to coordinate the smooth and efficient handling of guest luggage at both check in and check outCreate unique baskets or special amenities for special guestsDeal with all guest related issues as well as emergency and security situations in all areas of the hotelAccept reservations, changes, and cancellationsMake change, post charges, reconcile daily work, and make depositsOther duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredCollege degree in related field preferred1 year of management experience preferred3 years of front desk experience preferredAdditional InformationSupervision Given and ReceivedGiven:

Exercises direct supervision over front desk staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, frequent and detailed review of work, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Received:

Works under limited supervision of Front Desk Manager. Receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing strategic methods to attain them. Can formulate policies but does not necessarily have final authority for approval. Review of work is not detailed and emphasizes accomplishment of broad work objectives, rather than specific assignments.Work Environment and Physical DemandsAbility to be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time. Regularly work in adverse conditions and requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
