Full-Service Hotel/Resort Experience. Your application will not be considered without this previous experience.

Degree or equivalent relative work experience.

2 years of Hotel Director of Engineering experience preferred.

Must speak, read, and write English.

FUNCTION:

Responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of the entire hotel facility, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation. Also responsible for equipment, physical plant, FF&E, grounds, and swimming pool.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for working with all departments to ensure Guest & Employee Satisfaction.

Investigates guest complaints that pertain to Engineering Dept.

Directs and coordinates the daily activities of all assigned department personnel.

Conducts walk-throughs to assess the safety and efficiency of the physical structure of the hotel and related systems.

Coordinates with third-party vendors for required inspections.

Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems.

Performs preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.

Communicates between hotel departments to ensure maintenance needs are completed in a timely fashion.

Assign and verify work throughout hotel and grounds.

Hires, trains, supervises, and appraises department staff under the direction of the Director of Engineering.

Informs Director of Engineering and Hotel Department Heads regarding the condition of the building structure(s) and related systems.

Maintains and documents effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs.

Coordinates pest control throughout hotel and grounds.

Maintains all company standards and follow-up on inspection deficiencies.

Coordinates execution of all service contracts regarding current contractual guidelines.

Ensures training of departments in emergency procedures and equipment.

Contributes to all corporate required budgets and purchasing policies.

May require interfacing with trade unions.

Maintains appropriate supply of materials and equipment for normal operations.

Maintains organized and efficient administration and filing systems.

Maintains a well-defined and organized system for inventory and storage of tools and materials.

Supervises Delta Five Pest Control program and coordinates pest control services.

Supports and monitors fire alarm systems.

Inspects preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.

Available to report to the hotel in the event of any emergency.

Performs all duties as required by management.

Serves the hotel’s pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters.

Supervises maintenance of the building exterior and curb appeal.

Participates in the hotel Safety Committee.

Supports all Risk Management guidelines for fire and safety.

Ensures training and compliance of hotel safety and security.

Maintains all MSDS books throughout the facility.

Ensures Quality Standards and Service are maintained.

Must be able to work all shifts.

Supports established policies and procedures for Winston Hospitality.

Assists in conducting departmental operational audits.

Participates in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.

Ensures Security for the hotel’s customers and employees.

Enforces established policies and procedures for the hotel’s brand.

Practices the Winston Hospitality Culture.

Supports hotel’s training needs and efforts.

Responsible for performing “other duties” as assigned by management.

GROOMING/UNIFORMS:

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines will be explained during orientation.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:

Ability to obtain any licenses or permits required by law or company regulations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Exceptional knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC systems, and maintenance and repair of all.

Knowledge of public construction and building systems; related permits and fire safety codes.

Highly skilled in HVAC, boilers, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and landscaping.

Able to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions.

Responsive to maintenance complaints and collaborative with co-workers.

Skilled in the use of computers and software programs associated with Property Operations.

Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and written.

Ability to recognize safety hazards and security problems in the hotel.

Thorough knowledge of all operating departments including rooms, front office, housekeeping, engineering, and accounting.

Ability to instruct subordinates and accomplish goals on time.

Finger and hand dexterity to manipulate switches, a computer keyboard, and a 10-key calculator.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties. The hotel will provide the required PPE.

NOTICE:

Standing, bending, stooping, and lifting weights up to and including 50 lbs. may be required. The hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day.

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
