Location: Houston, TX

Top tier commodities trading client seeking an experienced power trader.

Role Accountabilities:

Build and manage a profitable and risk-balanced portfolio with P&L responsibility.

Identify, analyze, and quantify risks to propose and develop appropriate hedging strategies.

Convert quantitative observations into business and strategic recommendations.

Assist in the development and implementation of risk and P&L reporting frameworks.

Develop tools and methodologies for pricing and managing a portfolio of renewable and flexible assets.

Price and quote commercial opportunities brought by the Origination teams and advise on contractual terms.

Interact with other trading desks and support function teams to leverage company expertise.

Collaborate with Research and Market Analysis teams to assess illiquid prices and volume risks by technology and geography.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial market regulations in relevant markets.

Act as a subject matter expert, providing valuable market intelligence to support power activities.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as engineering, economics, finance, etc.

Over 5 years of relevant industry experience (Gas, Renewables, Power, Trading house, or banking) with hands-on experience in developing, trading, and risk managing a portfolio of renewable assets.

In-depth knowledge of pricing and management of flexible products like hydro or batteries.

Strong analytical abilities; coding skills are a plus.

Demonstrated experience in pricing and risk managing US Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

Ability to maintain a positive team spirit while working under pressure.

Languages: English, other
