The Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a full-time Senior Lab Professional in the laboratory of Dr. Regie Santos-Cortez. The lab manager will conduct research projects under the supervision of the PI and will be responsible for research coordination and execution as well as working collaboratively with other laboratory staff and trainees.Perform various wet lab techniques for both human and mouse studies, including but not limited to: DNA/RNA/protein extraction, primer design, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, preparation of samples for sequencing (Sanger, whole-genome or exome sequencing, bulk/single-cell/spatial RNA-seq, 16S rRNA seq/metagenomics), Western blot, etc.Collect, correctly store, organize, and track and document usage and availability of DNA, RNA, swab and tissue samples, whether from human or animal sources.Fine-tune, troubleshoot or test experimental protocols.Analyze and document results of variant identification from chromatograms and sequence data through the Integrative Genomics Viewer.Variant interpretation based on co-segregation with disease status in families, occurrence in control samples, bioinformatic evaluation and occurrence in databases of next-generation sequence data.Maintain mouse colonies and track use of animals in experiments.Assist the PI in maintaining required approvals throughout the course of each study, such as approval of animal studies through the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.Adhere to research regulatory standards.Work Location:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $52,941 - $67,341. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
