Part of our global agricultural supply chain group serves customers with a 1,500-member team at more than 100 grain elevators and service centers across the United States.The Plant Manager has overall leadership responsibility for operations and personnel at a grain elevator and fertilizer facility to maximize efficiencies, operate within applicable government regulations and our policy, and assist in identifying and developing customer solutions and service.This position will support our Alberta, MN facility.The Plant Manager will lead the facility to serve our customers, prevent incidents, reduce costs, improve efficiencies, execute capital spending plans, and enrich the local community through service projects and involvement in civic organizations. This is accomplished by leading and engaging the plant Operations Team to achieve goals and by creating and implementing an organized approach to execute on planned activities. This position will also be given peer leadership responsibility and accountability as a member of the extended regional Leadership Team. It is expected that, via peer leadership, the Plant Manager will help other functions (finance, sales, and merchandising) achieve overall business objectives through operational excellence.Principal Accountabilities:

Risk Management (35%):

Focus on reducing and managing risks associated with employees, contractors, customers, products, and facilities. This includes Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), Zero execution incidents, food and feed safety, process safety, and facility security.Talent Management (35%):

Build a talent pipeline with effective, diverse leaders who are well trained, engaged, and focused on operational excellence for today and the future. This focuses on training and development, engagement, hiring and retaining diverse talent, and fostering a culture of operational excellence.Operational Effectiveness (20%):

Take advantage of business opportunities while making continuous improvements. Manage the efficiencies of our plants to be the partner of choice for our customers, focusing on grain quality management, plant efficiencies, process improvements, and operation costs.Reliability Excellence (5%):

Implement systems, structures, processes, and procedures to create reliable, safe, and sustainable plants at the best total cost of ownership.Capital Effectiveness (5%):

Use best practices for selecting, planning, developing, and executing projects while consistently delivering successful outcomes.This position offers an opportunity to increase overall business acumen through an increased awareness of other functional roles by participating as an extended Leadership Team member. Depending on the individual facility, some or all of these technical skills will be learned within the first two years:Ability to administer and manage an effective and proactive EHS programKnowledge of government regulationsInventory management skillsExperience with electrical and programmable controllersMechanical ability and maintenance experienceGeneral marketing or merchandising knowledgeOperating efficiency and expense management skillsQualifications

Required:At least two years experience as a Leader and Manager in a business or agricultural related fieldExperience in administering and/or managing an effective and proactive Safety programMust be able and willing to work from heights (i.e. ladders, catwalks, etc.) and in an indoor/outdoor environmentStrong leadership and organizational skillsStrong communication and listening skillsAbility to influence decision-makingExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively within a teamProven problem-solving and decision-making skillsCapable of delivering innovationAbility to engage a high performing team4 year post-secondary educationAdditional Information
