Job Description

AECOM is actively growing the East Region Environmental Planning & Permitting (EPP) practice and is seeking a Senior Project Manager within the Mid-Atlantic EPP Department. The successful candidate will have experience in overseeing environmental permitting projects for energy clients, specifically within the Offshore Wind (OSW) market. The successful applicant will join a network of existing AECOM EPP specialists across the US to assist in project delivery.

For this opportunity, we will consider candidates in any of our Mid-Atlantic Regional offices including, but not limited to, the following: Baltimore, MD; Germantown, MD; Conshohocken, PA; Arlington, VA; Norfolk, VA; and District of Columbia.

Responsibilities:Develop, manage, and administer staff and projects carried out by those directly reporting to this position.Manage and perform consulting projects to scope, schedule, and budget, learning and applying AECOM's project management systems and software.Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary project teams in the preparation of local, state, and federal permitting processes for offshore wind energy projects.Develop, manage, and deliver business strategy and tactics, high-quality proposals, interdisciplinary teams, and documents and report deliverables.Serve as an interface with clients and regulatory personnel on complex projects and through business development initiatives.Proactively enforce a culture of producing high-quality work and the importance of Health & Safety within the team.Provide technical support to the EPP Department and individual Project Managers and support inter-disciplinary business development activities.Collaborate with other AECOM offices, practices, and business lines.Serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level staff.Perform client visits and field activities that require work outside the office and overnight travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Marine Science, Ecology, Policy, or an earth science-related field + 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.8+ years of experience managing projects and teams to scope, schedule, and budget.Valid Driver's License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in relevant field8+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting / Energy market with applied science in the OSW (Offshore Wind) market.10+ years of relevant industry experience desiredUnderstanding of the regulatory and study relationships of interconnects and landfallsStrong technical and regulatory policy background consistent with understanding BOEM Permitting submittals and state regulatory policies.Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiationsThorough working knowledge of CWA, ESA, NHPA, NEPA, FERC, and other federal, state, and local regulationsExperience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery.Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders.PMP or other project management certification is a plus; candidate will be required to complete AECOM Project Management Certification.Demonstrated experience managing projects, interdisciplinary teams, and workload, as well as interface successfully with Clients.High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as in a collaborative team environment.Organizational management skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work.Self-motivated, driven, and hard working.Existing, mature, and tested Client relationships with an ability to generate new work for the Team, Office, and Company.Excellent communication skills, including both oral and written (writing sample required)Occasional overnight travel required.Excellent and relevant references
