Position Title : Traffic Signal Technician SpecialistPeoria's Public Works Department has an excellent opportunity for an experienced traffic signal maintenance professional. We are currently recruiting for a Traffic Signal Technician Specialist to work with a team to service and maintain the City of Peoria's growing inventory of 140 signalized intersections.The ideal candidate for this position will have:The willingness to adapt to new technologies and City specific standards.The ability to work within a team setting or carry out assignments independently.Possess advanced technical skills and specialized knowledge to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signals and equipment.2-4 years of experience in traffic signal maintenance or related fields.The ability to work in extreme environments to service assets throughout the City.A great attitude, and strong work ethic to succeed in the Streets Division.Minimum Requirements:Education:
Two year college program or equivalent combinations resulting in accumulation of similar knowledge or skills.Experience:
2-4 years' experience. Considerable previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions.Physical Demands:
Work requires heavy physical exertion and effort. Forces exerted are equivalent to lifting between 25 and 50 pounds.Licenses and Certifications:Valid Arizona Class "D" Driver's License
upon hire .IMSA Traffic Signal Level II Certification
at the time of hire.Must obtain Fiber Optic ITS Level I and IMSA Roadway Lighting Level I
within one year of hire.
