Building and Facilities Technician
to join our growing organization at the Northridge plant. The Building and Facilities Technician will ensure that the building remains functional and in good repair. This position involves inspecting, maintaining, and repairing building systems, including light electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, as well as performing other maintenance tasks such as painting, roof repairs, locksmithing, and drywall installations. For specialized tasks, the Technician will liaise with a Supervisor to outsource the work. This is a critical role within our Maintenance Department, with responsibilities involving light construction and minor plumbing repairs.Job Responsibilities:Proven building maintenance experience.Light framing experience (wood/metal).Light plumbing experience.Sheetrock and painting experience.The ability to climb ladders.The ability to work day, night, and weekends on short notice.Ability to disassemble office equipment and reinstall it.Ability to check drawings, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.Ability to use common tools such as hammers, power tools, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.Experience with precision measuring instruments.Experience performing routine building maintenance.Keeping maintenance schedules and records up to date.Strong organizational and tracking skills.Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a team player.Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.Must use safe working practices and ensure the building is in compliance with safety and quality regulations, including maintaining fire, smoke, carbon monoxide, and other safety systems.Able to conduct regular inspections to determine which areas in the building need attention.Overseeing contractors and other workers who are unfamiliar with the building’s layout.Comfortable working outside and on rooftops.Capable of working both as a team and independently at times.Basic Qualifications:Possess a High School Diploma/GED equivalent (completed and verified prior to hire).3 years of prior experience in building maintenance in a private, public, government, or military environment, or in a role with similar responsibilities.Must be able to read elementary drawings.Must be organized and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to read, write legibly, understand, and communicate effectively in English.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.Experience with installation and modification of buildings, including electrical and plumbing changes.Familiar with OSHA, FDA, and NFPA regulations, and GMP.Safety for our employees and our communities is a key priority for Kindeva Drug Delivery.
