Reports directly to the Plant Manager and is a key member of the leadership teamImplement Lean / WCM principles/practices to minimize all forms of wasteSupport factory with all WCM initiatives and internal/external audits, including coaching and mentoring on WCM activitiesIdentify ongoing lean improvement training needs and assist with developing and implementing the required trainingResponsible to manage, develop, implement, and sustain a comprehensive WCM proficiency program for all production employeesTraining of personnel on methodologies and techniques to drive results (KPI)Leads activities in defined area or pillar of responsibility that are aligned with Company objectivesInteracts with plant and corporate personnel to secure appropriate resources to plan and implement projectsSupport WCM and Roofing teams with continuous improvement eventsDevelop, update, and maintain standard work instructions, One Point Lessons, training procedures, manuals, and training documentation for operator proficiency program for all positions and supports supervisors with employee trainingAbility to carry out advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping, time studies, and job evaluationsAbility to evaluate the current state of operations versus the goal of a future stateServes as 5S Plant Champion & supports 5S throughout the factoryLeads Kaizen events for continuous improvementProvide training for employees on continuous improvement methodologiesSupport the implementation of a formal problem solving system and supervise direct reports as assignedPerforms other related duties and responsibilities as needed and/or requested by management.What do you bring?Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering or equivalent experience.Five (5) or more years of experience in manufacturing environment preferredStrong change management skills to include the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles and conceptsAbility to organize and plan use of time and people effectively and efficientlyAbility to function, multi-task, and influence others in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentExceptional communication skills (both verbal and written), problem solving and analytical skillsProblem solving and analytical skills to solve practical issues and deal with a variety of changing situations; Six Sigma experience is a plusTraining and experience in Lean manufacturing principles and Kaizen facilitationAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel/Word/PowerPointAbility to travel as required (up to 20%)
