instrumental in making sure they provide a safe, engaging, bully-free and intentionally fun environment

for our children while implementing activities planned for the day.RequirementsMust meet and follow Texas Health and Human Services state license standards including pass background checks.Minimum age: 18 years of age; Education: High School Degree/ G.E.D. or higherPrevious childcare experience preferred but not required.Complete required childcare training aligned with the YMCA, Texas Health and Human Services, Texas Workforce and Texas Rising Star.Keep an accurate daily count of children each day and follow the policy/procedure to ensure each child is accounted for.Report staff or child incidents, accidents, or suspected child abuse to the supervisor and follow the policy/procedure for completing reports after each occurrence.Assist with safety drills to practice site evacuation and emergency procedures for fire, inclement weather, lockdown, etc., and can implement such procedures.Ability to work independently and lead groups through enrichment and recreational activities.Stand and walk for long periods of time to provide proper auditory and visual supervision of each child’s ongoing activity, carry at least 30 pounds when needed, and go from sitting to standing with ease.Encourage creativity and intellectual curiosity by building on the child’s interests and talents.Portray a positive role model for youth by maintaining an attitude of respect, loyalty, patience, integrity, courtesy, and maturity.Maintain a strong, positive relationship with the local YMCA personnel to ensure our community connection to that branch.
