Full-Time/RegularThe North Central Texas Council of Governments Transportation Department is seeking an entry- and/or mid-level Transportation Planner(s) to support implementation of transit projects and administration of federal transit grant program activities. These positions will work with public and private transportation providers, local governments, communities, and other stakeholders. In addition, responsibilities include preparing presentations, correspondence, documentation, articles, and reports. This posting is for the entry-level Transportation Planner I position.Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:Project Implementation and Management:Assisting with the implementation of transit-focused strategies outlined in Access North Texas (accessnorthtexas.org).Assisting with the coordination, implementation, and management of short-term transit-related projects by tracking project progress, goals and deliverables.Working with partner agencies to receive, review, and approve project invoices and other project-specific reporting documents to ensure project measurables are met.Assisting in the development and administration of procurements that support needs of rural and urban public transportation providers.Providing assistance in building supportive community networks.Program Administration and Reporting:Providing assistance in the collection of various transit-related performance measures.Providing assistance in the development and maintenance of databases, project listings, and funding awards for the purpose of grant administration, monitoring, and tracking.Assisting with the annual programming of federal funds to public transportation providers.Assisting with the development and administration of strategic partnerships with various partners throughout the region.Other Responsibilities may include:Drafting technical reports and project status reports for supervisor review.Assisting with the provision of technical assistance and support to external partners.Providing assistance with oversight and compliance activities consistent with grantor program guidelines.Assisting with the research, analysis and interpretation of federal, State and local regulations pertaining to transportation planning and funding.Required Skills:Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with partner agencies, the public, and stakeholders.Ability to derive insights and meaningful interpretation of data by performing analyses on various sources.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Sensitivity to cultural, socioeconomic and political issues in the community.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Innovative and proactive problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.Ability to handle multiple projects, organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks.Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.Ability to work with federal, State or local transportation programs.Ability to work with transit-dependent populations.Required Experience:Bachelors degree in analytical and quantitative methods (Transportation Planning, Urban/Regional Planning, Public Administration, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related area).One year of job-related experience or less.Salary:

Minimum of $36,976.00 annually
