This position will work with public and private transportation providers, local governments, communities, and other stakeholders. All submittals should include a cover letter summarizing your interest in the position and work experience as well as a current resume.Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:Coordinating, implementing, and supporting the management of short-term transit-related projectsWorking with partner agencies to receive, review, and recommend for approval, project invoices and other project-specific documents to ensure project commitments are metAssisting with budgets and preparing funding proposalsAssisting with the development and administration of procurements that support needs of rural and urban public transportation providersFacilitating partnerships between regional transit providers and partnersDrafting correspondence, documentation, reports, articles, meeting summaries, and executive summariesProviding technical assistance and support within the agency and to external partnersConducting oversight and compliance activities consistent with grantor program guidelinesAnalyzing and interpreting federal, State, and local regulations pertaining to transportation planning and fundingPreparing and delivering oral presentationsRequired SkillsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with partner agencies, the public, and stakeholdersAbility to derive insights and meaningful interpretation of data by performing analyses on various sourcesGood verbal and written communication skillsSensitivity to cultural, socioeconomic, and political issues in the communityKnowledge of short-term or long-range transportation planningAbility to work independently and in a team environmentSelf-motivated with proactive problem-solving and critical-thinking skillsDetail oriented, highly organized with an ability to manage multiple assignments/tasks and work well in a deadline-driven environment without diminishing quality of workFunctional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and ExcelRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in analytical and quantitative methods such as public administration, political science, business, transportation planning, urban/regional planning, or related field of studyAt least one year of job-related experienceStarting Salary Range$51,874.00 - $62,248.80The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is a voluntary association of, by and for local governments, and was established to assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit, and coordinating for sound regional development. NCTCOG's purpose is to strengthen both the individual and collective power of local governments and to help them recognize regional opportunities, eliminate unnecessary duplication, and make joint decisions. Since 1974, NCTCOG has served as the Metropolitan Planning Organization for transportation in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area and is responsible for developing transportation plans and programs that address the complex needs of the rapidly growing area. The planning area for transportation includes the 12 counties of Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, and Wise.
