Employees in their initial working test period must work on site in the office.THE ROLEThe Office of Equity is located within the Office of the Commissioner and is responsible for overseeing major Civil Rights programs and compliance including the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, the On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program, the Contractor Compliance Program, and the Title VI Program.The Account Examiner will:Assist in the review of applications and determinations for certification eligibility for small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program.Read, analyze, and apply applicable Federal Regulations in recommending application determinations.Assist in the review of DBE applications, including financial statements and company records to determine ownership, control, and social and economic disadvantage.Meet with applicants, participate in conferences, hearings, in person and virtual interviews, and site visits.Prepare and submit compliance reports.Maintain financial records to track program expenditures.Draft determination and recommendation memos and correspondence, including written narrative reports and responses to decision appeals.ABOUT USThe mission of the DOT is to provide a safe and efficient intermodal transportation network that improves the quality of life and promotes economic vitality for the State and the region.
