The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will support category development, sourcing of finished goods and supplier relationship management for assigned areas of responsibility. The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will assist with finished goods and process selection for purchases, assist in locating and selecting suppliers for purchases per category strategies, negotiate prices, develop and administer contracts for assigned suppliers, develop suppliers, develop and improve large spend category strategies and major business processes such as business continuity and supplier selection to deliver annual improvements in total cost, quality and service, and support sites as needed.Major ResponsibilitiesDevelop an expertise in the business needs and capabilities for major spend categories or key business processes.Stay abreast of supply market trends, supplier economics, and best practices in sourcing.Ensure training on and compliance with relevant company procedures.Seek to improve capabilities of the supply base and/or key business processes.Report performance data for assigned categories and/or key business processes.Communicate, monitor, and manage compliance with sourcing strategy and/or business process.Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to ensure full understanding and support of strategic sourcing key processes.Manage performance of suppliers and ensure that performance issues are quickly addressed.Champion annual productivity improvements by leading teams pursuing cost reduction opportunities in alignment with the sourcing strategy.Contribute to the continuous development of sourcing knowledge base.Partner with key stakeholders and partners to address technical issues for components and processes.Knowledge of:Supplier manufacturing processes and production systemsReceiving and inspection proceduresGLP’s / Personal AttributesExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent written, oral, and presentation skillsCreative & decisive problem solvingProven ability to influence/collaborate to get to desired resultCustomer focus (internal & external)Adaptable to meet rapidly changing prioritiesEducationBachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, operations or equivalent experienceAPICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) or CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) certification preferred2 - 5 years procurement/sourcing experience preferred2 - 5 years of Materials / Supply Chain experience is required.
