Summary

The Supply Chain Manager, Indirect Procurement reports to the Director of Supply Chain to maximize profitability and working capital. They will help to guide strategic Indirect Spend activities as supported by the Supply Chain team. Supporting strategic supply chain initiatives, in tandem with developing insightful KPI and supply chain analytics, will improve enterprise performance and overall customer satisfaction.

Areas of responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

With regional and district leadership, support in analyzing and implementing Indirect pricing strategies/processes in the assigned region and districts in support of corporate and/or assigned targets. Indirect spending categories include (but not limited to) Temp labor contracts, Waste Management, Fleet & Freight, Office supplies, and packaging.

Elevate communication between Supply Chain, branch, district and region leaders regarding market conditions, constraints, local relationships, supplier performance and future opportunities.

Support peers in Supply Chain, field operations, HR, sales & marketing. As needed, support the assigned region and district leadership in negotiations with both local and national suppliers.

Support in the creation of metrics and dashboards that assess, monitor and communicate trends involving indirect spend costs and rebate/ “backsides” and strategies.

Collaborate with leadership and peers in the preparation of metrics, complex analytics and build models that support long-term planning and provide greater shorter term business visibility. Will leverage Excel, Access, Supplier portals, and the ERP system with related reporting modules.

Build close working relationships with the field, as well as peers in HR, sales/marketing, finance, operations, Human Resources, IT and the Integration Team.

Education, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge

Seven plus (7+) years of progressively more responsible business experience gained with forward-thinking organizations. Ideally, background will embrace assignments in several of the following functions: Indirect Spend strategic sourcing/planning, sales and operations, and price management.

Skilled leading teams, influencing business direction and negotiating more advantageous agreements that create “win-win” conclusions.

A change agent who is open to new ideas, a good listener and comfortable challenging the status quo. Intellectually curious and open to new processes supporting continuous improvement.

A participative leader who will confidently share her/his vision and work proactively with colleagues in the field to modify approaches, thus, leading to a better overall value proposition.

Academic credentials should encompass an undergraduate degree in business, supply chain, operations or, perhaps, finance. A graduate degree (M.B.A.) or other advanced study is desirable. Certifications involving proficiency in related disciplines are of interest: CPP, CPSM, CPIM

Outstanding communication skills – both verbal and written. Capable of making presentations to the senior leadership team, key suppliers, branch/district/regional management and staff/project teams.

Experienced in decentralized/matrix management environments where essential to success is leadership, persuasiveness and a strong sense of team. A track record of building productive, respectful working relationships across the business is imperative.

Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to “drill down” into the details. Familiar with a broad range of software, modeling tools and proficiency utilizing several of the following: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), Access, Database Query, experience working in ERP systems and related reporting modules.

Moderate walking, standing, and/or climbing; light lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
