Within the School of Medicine, our Obstetric Department’s faculty, residents and students also work to advance medical science in perinatal health programming.Position Summary:The LSU Health Sciences Center Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in New Orleans is seeking applicants for a Perinatologist at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (clinical, non-tenure track) to join our growing Maternal Fetal Medicine division.The MFM Division serves as a resource and referral unit for the Greater New Orleans metropolitan area and beyond. The division is based in 5 hospitals in the New Orleans area and also serves as the region’s primary academic MFM unit. The division is actively involved in the education of 24 residents and 200 medical students. Our primary ambulatory site, Touro Infirmary Perinatal Center, is AIUM certified. The MFM division works in a multidisciplinary fashion with our affiliated Children’s Hospital New Orleans pediatric subspecialty divisions and provides tertiary referral programming within the Louisiana and Gulf Coast region for pregnancies with complex fetal and maternal co-morbidities.Job Title:

New Orleans, LAKey Responsibilities:Prenatal diagnosis, consultative and antenatal care services and ultrasound.Strong commitment to teaching is required to provide outstanding instruction to medical students and residents in various clinical venues.Clinical and population-based research opportunities.Provide comprehensive care for high-risk pregnancies, including prenatal diagnosis, genetic counseling, fetal therapy, and management of maternal complications.Perform and interpret advanced obstetric imaging, including detailed ultrasounds, fetal echocardiography, and procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide coordinated care for complex cases.Participate in the education and training of obstetrics and gynecology residents and medical students through clinical supervision and surgical instruction.Engage in clinical and translational research, with opportunities to lead or collaborate on studies focused on maternal-fetal medicine.Contribute to departmental initiatives, including quality improvement and patient safety.Share in the on-call rotation for maternal-fetal medicine.Qualifications:Medical degree (or equivalent).Board Certification or Board Eligibility (or equivalent) in Maternal Fetal Medicine.Board Certification in OBGYN.Licensed to practice Medicine in Louisiana before hire date.Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program.Completion of an accredited MFM fellowship program.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively in an academic and team-oriented environment.Commitment to providing patient-centered care.Preferred Qualifications:Clinical proficiency with invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures and maternal disease management.Experience in or interest in clinical research, fetal therapy, or health outcomes research.Benefits:Competitive salary structure.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.Annual and sick leave as well as paid holidays.Malpractice insurance coverage.Relocation assistance, if applicable.How to Apply:Interested candidates should submit their resume, cover letter, and references to
