Sign-On Bonus:

$10,000 with a 2-year commitment. First payment at 90 days and second payment after 1 year.

Job Overview:

The Director of Laboratory Services is responsible for the planning, implementation, and operation of laboratory departments to meet the organizations needs. This leadership role oversees human resources, financial management, and quality management within the department. The Director will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, develop policies and procedures, and lead initiatives that support the mission, vision, and strategic objectives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership in policy development and implementation for laboratory services.Coordinate meetings and committees related to patient care and staff development.Collaborate with stakeholders to develop workgroups that address organizational goals.Develop and monitor performance metrics for assigned departments.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., CAP, OSHA, CLIA, FDA, AABB).Lead quality management and improvement initiatives within the laboratory.Oversee laboratory staff performance to ensure the delivery of accurate test results.Manage the departments budget and financial resources.Support leadership and employee development within the department.Maintain confidentiality and protect organizational assets.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science (Required)Masters degree in a related field (Required)Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification by the ASCP (Required)Minimum of three (3) years of clinical laboratory experienceFive (5) years of management experience in a healthcare settingExperience in a Level II Trauma Center requiredStrong leadership skills to effectively direct a teamExcellent written and interpersonal communication skillsKnowledge of financial analysis techniques

Exposure to stressful situations, trauma, and griefAbility to wear personal protective equipment as requiredAble to move freely and perform job functions with or without an assistive deviceFrequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbsExposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious materials, with adherence to bloodborne pathogen and TB testing protocols

Certifications and Licensure:

Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification by the ASCP
