The current vacancies are with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations, Operating Services Section, located at the
Kulani Correctional Facility.
Within six months
of hire, the current vacancy requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A, with Endorsement N - Tank vehicles (permanently mounted tank rated greater than 119 gallons, or portable tank rated greater than 1,000 gallons) and no restrictions codes as follows:

Supervises and participates in the repair and maintenance of buildings; in addition to performing skilled building maintenance repair work, plans, lays out, schedules and assigns the work of building maintenance workers from work orders received by supervisors or project managers; instructs subordinates and demonstrates proper work methods; works alongside subordinates to set pace and quality of work; checks and inspects buildings, structures, equipment and facilities for needed repairs; estimates material and labor costs; requisitions materials; inspects work in progress and upon completion for proper quality of work; makes oral and written reports of work completed by the crew; and performs other related duties as assigned.
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:
Legal Authorization to Work Requirement:The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Experience and Training:
SIX (6) YEARS
of work experience in
performing a variety of building maintenance repair work , of which
TWO (2) YEARS
shall have been
as a fully competent worker (journeyworker level) , or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Commercial Driver's License (CDL):
As stated above, CDL required within six months of hire.
Note: A valid out-of-state CDL may also be accepted. If you are selected for this position, you must transfer your out-of-state CDL to a Hawaii-issued CDL prior to your employment start date.
