Job Summary

You will have the ability to provide technical, engineering, operations and maintenance support to the Peak Shaving Department. Maintain safety and reliability and improve operations of assigned production and storage stations and equipment. Supervise and coach assigned peak shaving staff. Ensure plant meets safety, reliability, regulatory, and financial requirements.

Essential Functions

Use knowledge of propane air plant processes and equipment to determine appropriate management actions need to maintain safety, code compliance, high reliability and availability of the assigned facilities.Plan, organize and direct the operation and maintenance of the plant to ensure the most effective return on the assets.Develop and supervise operations and maintenance processes and procedure to meet all safety and regulatory requirements for LPG production and storage facilities, including requirements of DOT 192, NFPA 59, State Authority Having Jurisdiction over pipeline safety, and other CenterPoint Energy, city and/or state requirements.Manage CenterPoint Energy's relationship with the facility's regulators including State Authority Having Jurisdiction, local fire, police, and community officials and adjacent neighbors.Contribute to CNP's Gas Distribution Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards compliance and programs related to assigned facilities.Performs engineering design, calculations, estimates, and studies in support of peak shaving facilities projects.Plan, promote, design, engineer and implement capital improvements as required to meet safety, regulatory and reliability needs of the facilities.Supervise the preparation of bids specifications and selection of contractors for as required for peak shaving projects. Manage contracts and contractor performance.Supervise, coach and improve employee and work group performance by establishing, communicating, and monitoring clear expectations of performance.Prepare and update Station Operation & Maintenance, Security, and Emergency manuals and procedures.Assume call out duties as scheduled in the Peak Shaving Department and respond to emergency situations as needed. Provide backup as needed to other Peak Shaving Department Facilities.Recruit and hire competent staff, develop new training programs as required to meet changing equipment or code requirements. Direct and document classroom and on the job training and assessment of employees as needed to meet operational and regulatory needs.Provide leadership in the department's SAP maintenance program. Develop department training as required.

Education Description

Bachelor's degree in engineering or two-year technical degree with 7 years related technical field experience.

Experience

Requires 2 years technical experience in natural gas, industrial process operations or equivalent industry.Requires experience working with codes and standards.Requires practical experience working with electrical and mechanical process equipment.Experience in Auto CAD, SAP, Microsoft Suite, PLC and SCADA is desirable.Propane-air and LNG experience preferred.
