AdventHealth North PinellasThe role you’ll contribute:The Sterile Services Lead position is for an experienced Certified Sterile Processing Technician.Under supervision of the SPD (Sterile Processing Department) Supervisor / Manager, the Sterile Services Lead will serve as a shift lead and will run a shift independently when supervisors are not present. The position will assist, and monitor activities related to sterilization, decontamination, and disinfection for their assigned shift while promoting services and satisfaction through training, education, and resolution of instrument set and processes concerns of staff and physicians. The Sterile Services Lead assists Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Manager/ Supervisor in overseeing compliance with regulatory considerations.Participates in orientation of new hires, quality audits, and performance improvement activities for the department.Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.The value you’ll bring to the team:·

Accountable for staff training, orientation and education to ensure staff are provided consistent information and training in order to full fill their job duties and follow government regulations, AAMI standards and AdventHealth Policy to ensure patient safety.·

Observes and oversees all aspects of reprocessing surgical trays to ensure all processes comply with government regulations and AAMI standards.·

Contributes to department cleanliness, organization, productivity and safety by keeping all instruments and supplies are kept in designated location.·

Utilizes Microsystems SPM computer program to track instruments, document effective time management/productivity and Q.A. data for department records.·

Monitors surgical case schedule and assures adequate staffing and instrumentation is available to meet daily customer needs.·

Serves as a resource expert and mentor for less experienced Sterile Processing staff.Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :·

High School Diploma or equivalent·

3 years Sterile Processing experience - Maintains educational requirements as outlined in the organizational checklists.·
