Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.BASIC PURPOSEThe purpose of this position is to provide support and case management to participants with children at the Depot Family Crisis Center.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESConduct case management for families with childrenConduct service coordination for families with childrenCoordinate case services with county social workersPrepare and plan children's activities for a school break (Winter, Spring, Summer, etc.)Transport students to and from school, if neededRefer at-risk children to partner agencies for interventionServe as a liaison to local school and school districtsCoordinate educational support for school-aged childrenCoordinate volunteer mentors/tutors for educational supportsMonitor and observe participants for safety and program policy complianceMaintain and organize facility logs (write-ups, overnights, etc.)Maintain accurate participant records in various information management systems, and generate reports as requestedCoordinate on-site recreational activities and maintain good relationships with familiesCoordinate facility office, including maintaining filing system, answering phonesServe and participate on the program case conference teamAdhere to confidentiality standardsOther duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTSAbility to speak and write the English language at a high and professional levelHigh degree of confidentialityComputer literate in Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, and Outlook preferredExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Excellent and professional telephone etiquette and presenceHigh degree of organizational skillsApproach problem solving creativelyStrong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handle multiple tasksCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSHigh school diplomaMinimum one (1) year of experience in social services, case management, child services, or related fieldMust possess a valid California Class C Driver's License, and the ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicleMust be 21 years or olderAuthorize The Salvation Army to add its name to the CA DMV Pull Notice ProgramComplete The Salvation Army vehicle course trainingPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basisAbility to grasp, push, and/or pull objectsAbility to reach overheadAbility to operate the telephoneAbility to lift to 25-40 lbs.Ability to operate a computerAbility to process written, visual, and verbal informationAbility to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer.Qualified individuals must be able to perform the position's essential duties with or without accommodation.
