Inventory Control Clerk (Houston, TX – Charger Industries)

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Inventory Control Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, overseeing stock movements, and ensuring the seamless coordination of our supply chain operations. The Inventory Control Clerk will also play a crucial part in optimizing our inventory system and supporting the overall success of our organization.Key Responsibilities & Duties:Verify and receive products from suppliers and customers using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.Maintain safety stock levels of all consumable materials and communicate purchase requirements to the Supply Chain Manager.Assist in preparing vendor material returns to ensure documentation is complete.Input transactions and other data entry, while ensuring inventory control and accuracy.Pick jobs and distribute materials to production.Coordinate and perform physical inventory counts.Thoroughly investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.Communicate with internal clients regarding inventory-related matters.Maintain in-process inventory in workstations by delivering and preparing materials and supplies as needed.Organize and repackage materials appropriately.Prepare and package finished goods for shipment.Support logistics with inventory movement in and out of the warehouse.Perform other duties outside their scope of work as assigned and required.Qualifications & Competencies:High school diploma or equivalent1-3 years’ experience in inventory control and shipping/receivingWorking knowledge of computers and office software (ERP, Outlook, MS Office)Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.Excellent organizational and time management abilitiesDetail-oriented with a high level of accuracyGreat communication and collaboration skillsExperience operating forklifts and material moving equipment preferredDOT Certification for shipping hazardous materials preferredAbility to lift and move heavy items, up to 50 poundsGood communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to work independently and as part of a teamMust have a valid driver’s licenseWork Environment & Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting while performing assembly tasks at a workstation, as well as the ability to stand for prolonged periods during assembly line workRepetitive tasks involving hand and wrist motions, such as assembling small parts, using tools and operating machineryFrequent reaching, grasping, pushing, or pulling of production materialsCapable of lifting and carrying battery components, tools, or assembled units weighing up to 50 lbs. This may involve moving or positioning items within the manufacturing areaStanding, bending, or kneeling to access equipment, perform on-site assessments, operate machinery, handle delicate components, or perform tasks at various heights and anglesWorking in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
