The Weitz Company is looking for an experienced Project Superintendent to join our team in Fort Myers, FL!

This role is responsible for profitable field operations. The Project Superintendent plays a critical role in establishing a safety culture on the jobsite and will work closely with the Project Manager to manage schedule, budget, and staff to achieve the best outcome possible. This role will also create/maintain effective client, vendor, supplier, and subcontractor relationships.

What You'll Do:

Act as the primary leader of subcontractors and field forces on a job siteMaintain project safety in accordance with the Company's Safety PolicyDevelop and update the project schedulePrepare two-week look ahead schedulesUpdate project schedules utilizing computerized scheduling softwareAssist with the buyout and selection of major subcontractorsCoordinate the work of the subcontractors' field forcesCommunicate effectively with owners, designers, and engineersMaintain accurate cost reportsEnsure all required paperwork is completed, accurate, and timelyAdhere to all company policies, standards, and proceduresProvide opportunities to help the team develop, learn, and growFoster positive relationships with both internal and external parties

What We're Looking For:

Experience:

5-10 years of Project Superintendent experience requiredCommercial construction experience working for a general contractor (GC)Experience in education, municipal, hospitality, aviation, and/or senior living construction is desiredExperience with safety, preconstruction, staff development/retention, and customer advocacy

Skills:

Ability to read/interpret construction documentsKnowledge of construction methods and materialsExcellent project organizational skillsImpressive leadership skills with the desire to teach, mentor, and develop a teamBusiness acumen and relationship building skillsExcellent verbal and written communication across all levels of the organization

Technology:

Proficient in basic computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookSystems experience with Prolog, JDE, and SureTrak is a plusAbility to learn specific job-related software upon hire
