As a member of the NV5 Geospatial Business Development Team, you will work collaboratively to develop business and sell services to key federal government agencies with a focus on eGIS, Mapping Sciences, Natural Hazards, Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, and National Defense. As part of the account team, you will be responsible for the development and execution of strategies that meet NV5 federal business development objectives. Overview

Responsibilities

Prospect and develop opportunities to contract/partner with key federal agencies and affiliated stakeholders that have a need for geospatial solutionsClearly articulate the strength and value proposition of NV5 GeospatialDevelop and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities for business growthDemonstrate a thoughtful understanding of insightful industry knowledge and how geospatial technologies apply to initiatives and trendsUnderstand the key business drivers within an organization and identify key business stakeholdersUnderstand the client's budgeting and acquisition processesSuccessfully execute the account management process including account prioritization, account resourcing, and account planningSuccessfully execute the sales process for all opportunitiesLeverage and lead a Capture Team consisting of pre-sales engineering, estimating, proposals, technical, and other cross-company resources to define and execute an account strategyEffectively utilize and leverage the company's CRM to manage opportunities and drive the buying processParticipate in trade shows, workshops, and seminars (as required)Support visual story telling through effective whiteboard sessionsBe resourceful and take initiative to resolve issues

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:Bachelor's or master's in a geospatial field (e.g., remote sensing, GIS, photogrammetry, etc.), business management, or a related field, or equivalent work experienceTen or more years of related project/program management/leadership/sales experience providing geospatial data or technology solutions to clientsUnderstanding of remote sensing data acquisition technologies, enterprise-level GIS platforms, geospatial applications development, integrated geospatial solutions, and how they relate to natural science, homeland security and national defense in the federal government and partnering organizationsDemonstrated experience in coordinating, prospecting, proposing, and winning grants and contractsExcellent written communication skills and ability to write/compile technical proposalsExcellent verbal communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to adapt to new technology trends and translate them into solutions that address client needsDemonstrated experience with building strong partnerships and advocacy with clientsExcellent presentation, white boarding, and negotiation skills including good listening, probing, and qualification abilitiesExperience managing large projects and/or initiativesDemonstrated understanding and mitigation of competitive threatsAbility to manage and prioritize activitiesDemonstrated experience with leading high-level/executive engagements to provide data and services to large federal agencies and affiliated partnersKnowledge of the federal fiscal year, budgeting, and procurement cyclesHighly motivated team player with a mature, positive attitude and passion to meet the challenges and opportunities of a businessAbility to travel domestically (and possibly internationally) up to 25%Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with the civilian and defense focused federal government agencies and affiliated organizationsExperience working with eGIS platforms, aerial/satellite and/or acoustic remotely sensed data (e.g., optical, hyperspectral, thermal, radar imagery; topographic and/or bathymetric LiDAR; multibeam/single beam/side-scan sonar; etc.), GPS field surveying, geospatial data processing and analysis, and thematic mappingGeneral knowledge of spatial analysis and problem solvingResults oriented; ability to write and craft smart, attainable, realistic, time-driven goals with clear lead indicatorsNV5 offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, 401(k) and professional development/advancement opportunities.NV5 provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
