GIS Specialist
shall conduct the following work in support of the Oregon & Washington Land Records Team geospatial support of the OR & WA BLM Branch of Geographic Sciences.Work Environment:Location: NV5 Geospatial Headquarters, Regional offices, or work from home consideredTravel

We value both heart and head, the diversity of our people, and their experiences because that is how we continue to grow as a leader in our industry and expand our individual and collective potential.Responsibilities:Maintain knowledge of GIS concepts and analytical techniques, including computerized mapping and digital data conversion, manipulation and analysis.Maintain expert knowledge and understanding of federal land tenure records, the Public Land Survey System and legacy BLM Land Records Systems.Maintain knowledge of the process to create geospatial Master Title Plats and related land records geospatial data.Work effectively in a team to develop high quality GIS products.Conduct advanced editing, data maintenance, and mapping.Digitize map and geographical feature data into various GIS layers.Produce publication quality cartographic products.Work with variety of geospatial datasets from sources within and external to the federal government.Implementing FGDC-compliant metadata including verifying, writing and review metadata.Assist with data collection, consolidation, sharing, and general data management activities.Ensure that data requirements, data standards, access rules, and business rules are followed.Analyze and mine business data to identify patterns and correlations among the various data points.Develop quality control procedures for datasets and analyses.Improve the quality and accessibility of BLM geospatial data.Manage data within the EGIS file structure with BLM standard naming conventions.Assist with the maintenance and update of geodatabases in an enterprise environment.Attend regular meetings to review work progress and schedule.
Qualifications:Requirements:Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Geography/GIS, Science, Engineering or related fieldSkilled in the use of ArcGIS Enterprise systems and web services3-years of experience or greater preferred.Professional knowledge of geodatabase management, including data standards and legacy data incorporation.Professional experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, Portal, Hub, and various applications.Strong productive collaboration and communication skills with other specialists.Please be aware that some of our positions may require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
