Responsible for one of the largest of the 56 Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) that make up the nation’s donation system, NEDS works with over 200 hospitals and serves nearly 15 million people in our region, screening nearly 55,000 potential donor referrals annually.New England Donor Services is seeking an experienced

ICU RN, Critical Care RN, Trauma Nurse

to join our team. As a

Donation Coordinator , you will respond on-site to organ donor referrals to provide clinical expertise in donor evaluation, donor management, organ allocation, and organ recovery.You will blend high-level clinical and people skills to educate hospital staff on the donation process, work with donor families to obtain consent for donation, and work with multiple surgical teams and critical care staff to optimize organs for transplantation. Success in this role requires a self-assured professional who has keen clinical assessment skills, the ability to be flexible, and remain calm and effective in highly charged and clinically complex situations.Schedule:Orientation: After a general company-wide week-long onsite (Waltham, MA) orientation, you will participate in a specialized organ donation training program.The

New Hire Donation Academy

is 3 days/week for the first 3 weeks in Waltham office (generally Tuesday through Thursday on a day shift) and additional training in Waltham office throughout orientation program. Once the classroom training is completed, new hires will participate in a mix of 16-hour day and 12-hour night on-call shifts. Average 14 shifts per 4-week schedule + trainings + meetings. Significant travel with personal vehicle throughout all of New England is expected. Mileage and other reimbursements available.Independent:

12-hour night shifts, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am shift. Expect 12 shifts per 4-week schedule (3 shifts per week) + trainings + meetings. Significant travel with personal vehicle throughout New England is expected. Mileage and other reimbursements available.Minimum Requirements:Optimal candidates have critical care or trauma experience with medical/clinical credentials including experience managing complicated clinical events.Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance (extensive driving throughout New England is required) and have reliable transportation.Ideal candidate must have the following:

Critical thinking skills and keen clinical assessment skillsBe compassionate and have conflict resolution skillsAble to sit, stand or bend for extended periods of timeHave great work ethic and be forward-thinking

Education and Experience:3-5 years clinical experience/critical care experience and a Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
