Grant and Proposal Success Manager

to be the lead writer and manager on self-identified grants and assigned bids and proposals for Discovery Education’s suite of instructional materials and professional development. The Specialist will extensively read and research grant and RFX (RFP, RFI, RFQ, etc.) requirements to write and edit appropriate responses that highlight Discovery Education’s strengths and competitive advantages. The Senior Specialist in this role employs intuitive research and problem-solving skills for independent tasks, while working collaboratively and respectfully with colleagues across the organization to obtain and refine required information and deliverables. The Senior Specialist will utilize his or her professional writing expertise to craft cogent proposals and rubric documents with meticulous detail to curriculum standards, pedagogical best practices, technology integrations, business qualifications, and compliance with district, state, and/or federal policies. The ideal candidate adapts well to fast-paced environments and successfully manages tight and concurrent deadlines, leading multiple projects from end to end.In This Role You Will:Research and identify new government, corporate, foundation and private funding and/or grant prospects aligned to Discovery Education solutions.Research, author and edit responses to grants, RFX’s, and state and local textbook adoption documents, applying expertise to craft responses that position Discovery Education’s products and services as the best solutions for the expressed criteria of educational partners or funding opportunities.Coordinate with appropriate colleagues to create expenditure and income budgets to accompany proposals.Develop fluency regarding regulations and other matters of grant compliance.Independently manage incoming RFX’s and state and local textbook adoption assignments, proposal deliverables and deadlines, legal and contract requirements, and timing of proposal workflow.Serve as a responsible leader in collaborating with Product, Curriculum, Legal, Partnerships, Technical Support, and Professional Development teams to craft responsive, compliant, and winning proposals.Cultivate networks with product and implementation experts to acquire deep product knowledge and stay current on product and positioning changes.Develop and constantly revise product knowledge and intelligence of the competitive marketplace to ensure win themes and key differentiators are included in bids.Author and edit grant and proposal responses that are sensitive to the need for a balanced, unbiased, and respectful presentation of people and cultures in all its materials.Possess a high level of responsibility, drive, and self-motivation to meet multiple, overlapping grant and proposal response deadlines, refining best practices with every assignment to create maximum quality and efficiency.Facilitate the packaging and shipping of grant and proposal deliverables, to ensure delivery by stated due dates and times, in compliance with packaging and labeling requirements.Provide support as needed to Operations and Partnerships teams, when assistance is needed to help produce time-sensitive tasks.Constantly work to help achieve stated business goals of the Operations team, and the entire organization.Core Competencies for Success:An outstanding writer and editor, skilled with engaging readers and driving purchasing decisions.The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple tasks/projects concurrently.Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively across teams with competing needs.Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Acrobat Pro, and other standard business applications.Driven self-starter with the ability to do what needs to be done without being micromanaged.Demonstrate a problem solving/solution-oriented approach.Credentials and Experience:Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a role tasked with grant writing.Background in RFX bid proposals, education technology, and/or classroom/district education is desirable.Associates, Bachelors, Master’s or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Legal right to work in the United States.This role is designed to be hybrid in our Charlotte, NC, headquarters.
