We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mid-Level Accountant with 3-4 years of professional accounting experience, preferably from a professional services firm such as engineering, legal, or public accounting. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in accounting from a four-year accredited program, demonstrating a solid foundation in accounting principles and practices. This role requires excellent communication skills, extensive experience in Excel and QuickBooks, and proficiency in managing general ledger and bank reconciliations. The candidate must be capable of working independently, including conducting research on accounting principles and laws.

Day to Day Responsibilities

General Accounting:Maintain and oversee general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.Software Proficiency:

QuickBooks and ExcelCompliance and Research:Conduct research on accounting principles, laws, and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and industry regulations.Assist with audits, both internal and external, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.Communication and Collaboration:Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial objectives and business goals.Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.Education and Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a four-year accredited program (Degree in Accounting is Required)3-4 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a professional services firm (engineering, legal, or public accounting)Extensive experience with QuickBooks and Excel, including advanced functionalities.Proficient in managing general ledger and performing bank reconciliations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively manage time and priorities.Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles and regulations.Experience with additional accounting software and ERP systems.Certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is a plus.Proactive approach to identifying and solving accounting issues.Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
