Rivet Operations Company has an opening for a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team in the Stafford, Virginia area. Rivet is an exceptional industry partner to the US Marine Corps and a leader in financial management, audit improvement, physical and cyber security, IT management, logistics, supply chain management, and process improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide financial management support to the Marine Corps System Command, Director Financial Management, Operations & Maintenance Marine Corps Appropriation financial management (FM) teamUse the Status of Funds (SOF) and Active File Data Element Reports (i.e. DTR) from SMARTS and DAI to reconcile accounting logs and submit weekly financial status report to the FM leadPrepare funding documents packages and input funding document data, to include execution of basic funding documents as well as amendments to the basic funding document, into DAIRecord, track, and update funding document and spend plan data within CERBERUSTrack, verify, and reconcile that the funding commitments, de-commitments, and de-obligations are posted properlyAnalyze current and historical Planning, Programming, Budgeting Execution (PPBE) data and extract, analyze, and submit financial data from the PPBE to build financial products, for example building of spend plansResearch financial records and input data in accordance with the guidelines as well as DoD Financial Management RegulationsConduct trend analysis on outstanding records from quarter to quarter
JOB REQUIRMENTS
Education, Experience, Skills:
Bachelor's Degree (Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field) or equivalent experienceOne or more years' experience as Financial Analyst with the Department of Defense, USMC experience is preferredAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applicationsProficient in data analytics and electronic data researchFamiliar with DoD fiscal terms and processesStrong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to interact efficiently with Military Personnel and CiviliansTyping skills (ability to type 45 words per minute)Ability to pay attention to detailsRequires the applicant to pass the background investigation requirement for the positionPhysical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required.
