Ocean Export Operations Agent
based in
Savannah, GA . With offices in key U.S. cities and a global network spanning more than 120 countries, this company is renowned for providing innovative logistics solutions to a wide range of clients.Key Responsibilities:Ocean Export Operations:
Manage all aspects of ocean export shipments, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards.Customer Service:
Provide exceptional service to clients, maintaining strong relationships with carriers, agents, and U.S. Customs.Documentation:
Handle export documentation, including AES filing, and ensure all paperwork is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.Quotations and Negotiation:
Prepare customer quotes, negotiate carrier rates, and coordinate shipping arrangements.Tracking and Updates:
Keep clients updated on shipment status from origin to destination, ensuring timely coordination and communication.Problem Solving:
Address operational challenges and make practical decisions to ensure smooth shipment handling.Cross-Trade Shipments:
Oversee foreign-to-foreign and cross-trade shipments as required.Billing and Payables:
Set up billing and manage accounts payable related to shipments.Qualifications and Experience:Freight Forwarding Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years in international logistics, with a focus on ocean export operations.Customer Service:
2-3 years of customer service experience with strong communication and relationship-building skills.CargoWise Experience:
Familiarity with CargoWise software is a strong advantage.Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and freight forwarding software.Educational Background:
High school diploma or GED required.Legal Work Authorization:
