Overview

The Automotive Used Car Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a dealership's used car operations. This includes purchasing, pricing, reconditioning, and selling pre-owned vehicles. The manager ensures that the used car department operates efficiently and profitably, while providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management:Oversee the purchase of used vehicles, ensuring quality and profitability.Manage the reconditioning process to prepare vehicles for sale.Monitor inventory levels and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.Implement pricing strategies to maximize profitability.Sales Management:Lead and motivate a team of used car sales professionals.Set sales goals and track performance.Develop and implement sales training programs.Ensure that customer satisfaction is a top priority.Financial Performance:Monitor department profitability and identify areas for improvement.Prepare and analyze financial reports.Develop and implement cost-saving measures.Customer Service:Ensure that customers receive exceptional service throughout the buying process.Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.Foster a positive and customer-centric culture within the department.Compliance:Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to vehicle sales and financing.Maintain accurate records and documentation.Qualifications

Proven experience in automotive sales management, preferably in the used car department.Strong leadership and management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.Knowledge of automotive industry trends and best practices.Valid driver's license.Desired Skills

Experience with automotive inventory management systems.Knowledge of automotive appraisal and reconditioning processes.Experience with vehicle financing and leasing.
