Follow the status of your application on-line.Veteran Preference Statement: South Carolina is making our Veterans a priority for employment in state agencies and institutions.Job Responsibilities With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center, 65 Forest Drive, Varnville, SC 29944, however, could be housed in our Ridgeland clinic location if desired and agreed upon by Coastal Empire Leadership.Provides direct outpatient nursing and case management services to clients served by Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center, with particular focus on promoting recovery-based services to the seriously and persistently mentally ill. 1. Assumes responsibility for patients with complex psychiatric/medical care needs. Provides advanced psychiatric nursing services, including medication monitoring and compliance, medication administration, and evaluates the effectiveness of medication to seriously and persistently mentally ill individuals. Coordinates and maintains a caseload. Completes clinical documentation in full compliance with SCDMH Quality Assurance Standards. 2. Provides case management services, including treatment planning, medication education to patients and families, assesses the nursing needs of patients, and provides psycho-education, crisis intervention, and medical stabilization in the community mental health setting. Performs all nursing and other treatment services in compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory standards. 3. Manages the medication area of the clinic, including logging medicine in and out, maintains accurate inventory and storage of medications on hand, proper handling and routing of Hazardous Wastes, and provides ordering support to patients accessing medication assistance programs and other medication procurement methods, including pharmacy calls and confirming doctors' orders. 4. Functions as a member of the treatment team, attending staffings and other meetings, provides coordination and consultation to case managers and MDs, attends departmental meetings and training services as requested by supervisor. 5. Provides nursing services to clients of other clinics and CAF services as needed and requested by clinic and CAF personnel and performs other related duties as required. Minimum and Additional Requirements State: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Licensure as an RN by the SC Board of NursingDMH: Bachelor's degree in nursing or 3 year diploma or an associate degree in nursing. Licensed RN by the SC Board of Nursing or eligible for SC licensure.Note:If any Agency Requirements are listed above, applicants must also meet those requirements to be considered for the position. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. Additional Comments Must be able to lift 3 - 5 pounds.
