Job Responsibilities

With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Spartanburg Office, 250 Dewey Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29303

Job Responsibilities:Serves on the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team providing evidenced based services in an intensive non-residential treatment and rehabilitative services om accordance with fidelity model. This is a single fixed point of responsibility for treatment, rehabilitation, and support needs for patients with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) who require higher levels of community care and have been well supported in lower level of care options.

Provides direct services to ACT patients to include but not limited to accessing the health, social, psychiatric and medical needs of Center patients: administering scheduled intramuscular medications to patients as ordered by prescribers.Engages in health promotion, prevention and education activities.Ensures patients are seen in accordance with their needs (medical/psychiatric appointments).Completes clinical documentation using collaborative documentation and ensures services are documented in accordance with SCDMH/QA requirements.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Minimum Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and related nursing experience. A bachelor's degree nursing and two (2) years' experience; or a three yeardiploma and two (2) years' experience; or an associate degree in nursing and two (2) years experienced as registered nurse, one (1) of which must have been in community health program. One year experience working with adults diagnosed with serious mental illness and working knowledge of psychiatric medications. Licensed as a registered nurse by the SC Board of Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with adults with serious mental health issues.

Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
