Senior Staff Accountant

The Position:

This Staff Accountant position will perform general accounting duties including recording journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, prepare intercompany billings, pay franchise tax, prepare 1099 reporting, process payroll functions, and prepare analysis and research of accounting transactions.

Main Responsibilities:Cash Management

Record transaction on Cash Management. Process all Mortgage payment deposits from our servicer

Property Management SAGE Module

Responsible for adding new properties, units & leases. Ensure all charges are added to each file from recurring transactions to extra items pulled from Buildium. Processing all checks, EFTs and credit cards transactions to the appropriate tenants' log in SAGE. Move out tenants in PM module per Buildium and write off or refund any security deposits and outstanding charges.

Reconciliations

Responsible for monthly reconciliation of all Earnest Money GLs with spreadsheets. Assist with reconciliation of Interim GL's & Permanent loan balances for responsible Banks.

Journal Entries

Responsible for creating and recording journal entries for items related to the Treasury accountant's normal transaction duties. For example, security deposit forfeits, etc.

Loan Payments

Assist in processing monthly loan payments. This entails the collection of statements and ensuring that the bank statements and our records are matching as well as processing the payments in SAGE.

Loan Processing

Assist in processing weekly interim draws & monthly development draws into SAGE.Reconcile loan balances with the bank statements on the Loan Balance & Interim Reconciliation worksheets monthly.

Meeting and Huddles

Mandatory KPI meeting at 9 AM Mondays.Team HuddlesDepartmental Meeting

Required Competencies:

Account or Finance Degree required.Minimum of 2-years experience in homebuilding.Self-starter with strong organizational skills.Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines.Ability to work in a team environment and a customer service attitude.Knowledge of Sage 300 a plus.What we provide:
