ACCOUNTANT - Will work out of our Neffsville HVAC & Plumbing location in Lancaster PA THE MASTER TRADES GROUP - Join our growing Finance Team FINANCIAL SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - Senior Accountant Full Time On-Site Position - LANCASTER PA BRANCH OFFICE LOCATION Preferred: Multi-entity, intercompany experience Sage Intacct experience, Concur, Service Titan or similar software systems Solid, successful company, security & growth available Full Time Exempt position. The objective for the Senior Accountant is to work closely with the Regional Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting for three locations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Support the Plumbing/HVAC/Sewer/Electrical Businesses by: - Daily accounting functions - Fixed assets, depreciation, disposal and associated journal entries and reconciliation. - Balance sheet reconciliations and full analysis - Prepare monthly reporting package - Prepare detailed budget variance analysis - Analyze and research revenue accounting matters. - Provide accurate documentation of issues identified and resolutions reached. Work with Controller to improve the accounting procedures, internal controls, and system management. Work closely with finance departments and operations to gain understanding of processes. The objective for the Senior Accountant is to assist the Regional Controller with the monthly close and related activity such as balance sheet and income statement activity as well as intercompany transactions and certain shared services functions of Accounts Payable and Intercompany Processing for the Master Trade Group companies. The position will assist in the management of the monthly close, preparation of monthly department financial statements and management presentations, inter department communication and coordination, managing accounting staff, managing requests related to the year-end audit, tax requirements and anything other accounting related. The role will provide excellent internal and external customer service while providing financial analysis and reporting, business systems management and other tasks in support of business operations. Experience with Sage Intaact and Service Titan a plus EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Bachelors in Accounting required. 5 years of experience working in an Accounting department with increased job responsibility. Experience in Public Accounting preferred CPA or in progress ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide support as required to the Accounting Department. Assist and coordinate with the entire department on month-end close, quarterly reporting, and regular training. Assist with the planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions including monthly close and close coordination with other departments - strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills are a must. Posting of journal entries as needed to record and reconcile activity across balance sheet and income statement accounts. Preparation of account reconciliation for all balance accounts as assigned and certain income statement accounts as assigned on a monthly basis in line with deliverable timelines. Reconciliation of various cash accounts including monthly bank reconciliations and posting journal entries as needed to record transactions from the bank statements and/or intercompany transactions from various Master Trade group entities Reconciliation of intercompany accounts including monthly review of transactions to ensure that intercompany transactions eliminate and communication across the Master Trade Group companies to ensure counter party to transactions has appropriate documentation. Assist with reconciliation of fixed assets including accounting for asset additions, disposals and depreciation expense on monthly basis and recording and reconciling as appropriate. Communication and collaboration with the operations - sales, warehouse, technicians on areas or job costing, inventory and receivables to ensure activity is properly recorded and accounted for on a monthly basis. Assist with shared services transactions and ensuring that activity that crosses multiple Master Trades Group companies is properly communicated and accounted for. Work with AR and AP teams as needed to ensure proper accounting of transactions and coding of activity on a monthly basis. Assist with the implementation of accounting and monthly close software to ensure proper controls are in place to adhere to the monthly close timeline. Assist in the development of standard operating accounting procedures and process improvements throughout the MTG organization and document and communicate as needed process improvements and enhancements. Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes and controls. Knowledge of US GAAP important and an ability to understand how the accounting activity is part of a broader operational flow Ability to create strong relationships and understand the operational aspects and challenges of the business important. QUALIFICATIONS / ABILITIES: Communicate effectively using internal/external customer service and develop a teamwork focused and collaborative environment Strong attention to organization and detail and ensuring on a monthly basis needed work is performed Strong interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality. WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is performed in a professional group office environment. Lift up to 30 Lbs. Ability to travel by car to entities when required.
