Key Tasks and ResponsibilitiesReviews orders (color, label, width, length) to meet customer needs.Setting up machines with the correct settings and tension for each order.Inspecting materials and ensuring proper conversion based on the order.Utilize an overhead crane to carefully lift and transport product from designated carts to designated machines.Operating finishing machines to precisely spool, slit, rewind, or cut jumbo stock.Pooling material from and to designated stock locations.Change blades on machines and thread through spooling components.Splices product rolls by identifying and removing defective sections with a knife. Ensures a clean splice using tape and rethreads if necessary.Reporting any issues with finishing orders to the appropriate supervisors.Entering all finishing information accurately into SAP using the correct scrap codes.Managing off-cuts efficiently according to company procedures.Collaborating with material handlers to minimize downtimeInspecting and certifying all outgoing rolls to guarantee customer satisfaction.utilize forklift as needed depending on locationOther duties as assignedSkills and AbilitiesEffective communication: Collaborate clearly with team membersMath skills: Utilize basic math skills for tasks like interpreting production specificationsQuality control: Possess a keen eye for detailSafety compliance: Follow safe knife and blade techniques.Physical abilities: Meet the physical demands of the role, including static pull strength of 84 lbs., push 60 lbs., lift 50-100 lbs., and finger dexterity.Mobility: The role requires extended periods of sitting and standing.
