Sr. Accountant (Construction)
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85028
Salary: Range of 60-75k, plus bonus and benefits
Schedule: Full-Time In-office hours 7-4 or 8-5
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide assistance to the Controller and CFO in Financial Statements/reconciliations, preparing financial reports/presentations, assisting in analyzing Subcontractor Qualifications, and other similar duties.
The duties of the accountant include the following:
These duties may be modified and other duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the business.•Responsible for assisting in the preparation of the financial statements. This includes preparing and managing general ledger entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and other detailed analyses.•Responsible for monthly Bank Reconciliations and monthly Job Costing updates.•Assisting regulatory reporting, frequently including tax and insurance reports and compliance.•Prepare quarterly reports, including PowerPoint presentations used by management.•Prepare quarterly statistical reports for the Principals, Project Managers and Superintendents.•Assist in processing Subcontractor qualifications/requalification's ratings. This entails reviewing Financial Statements, Contractor's Licenses, etc.•Assist/Review 20-day pre-liens, reviewing and managing lien waivers.•Provide support to AP/AR reviewing and entering invoices/ draws.•Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Preferred:•Strong technical knowledge of all aspects accounting.•Maintain ethical and fiduciary standards in all general accounting principles and practices. Must maintain high-level of confidentiality.•Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Must be detail oriented and focused.•Ability to work well and interact with all internal departments as well as external business contacts.•Enjoys dealing with people. Able to work in team environment.•Solid proficiency in all Microsoft Office Products and Timberline. Strong Excel and PowerPoint knowledge is required.
Education and Experience Preferred:•3-5 years of accounting experience•Construction experience•2- or 4-year Accounting (or similar) degree highly preferred
