ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Senior Accountant position. This position will be primarily responsible for:Performing general bookkeeping dutiesOverseeing accounts receivable and/or accounts payable functionsPreparing customer invoices for billing, receipt of payments, and deposits to the bankReconciling general ledger accountsReconciling sub-ledger accounting systemsReconciling deposits between sub-ledgersProviding lead direction and training for support staffCompetency utilizing Oracle EBSPerforming accounting duties in accordance with GASB, GAAP and NRS guidelinesThis recruitment will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

Education and Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field AND two (2) years of full-time experience in a professional accounting role that has provided the necessary skills and knowledge to perform all necessary job functions at this level. Experience that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions, maybe substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two (2) years. Possession of an appropriate advanced degree and/or CPA is desirable.

Working Conditions:

Attend meetings outside of normal working hours.

Licenses and Certification:

Specified positions may require possession of a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment. Certification as a Certified Public Accountant is desirable.

Background Investigation:

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

Pre-Employment Drug Testing:
