Risk Management Specialist, Commodity Overview: A dynamic energy trading company is seeking a highly skilled Commodity Risk Management Specialist to strengthen the internal control framework and manage operational risks associated with the company's commodity trading business. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of energy markets, risk management principles, and quantitative analysis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but not Limited to: Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies for energy commodities, including crude oil, natural gas, and refined products Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities Monitor and manage market volatility, price fluctuations, and geopolitical factors Develop and maintain risk models to assess market exposure and quantify potential losses Implement hedging strategies to mitigate price risks and protect the company's financial position Collaborate with trading teams to optimize risk-adjusted returns Conduct regular risk reporting and analysis for management Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices Contribute to the development and enhancement of risk management systems and processes Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Finance, or equivalent) preferred Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in commodity risk management within the energy industry In-depth understanding of internal control frameworks and methodologies Strong knowledge of energy markets, derivatives, and financial instruments Proven ability to develop and execute effective commodity risk management strategies Proficiency in quantitative analysis and risk modeling techniques Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
