Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the Chief Financial Officer and Controller by maintaining an accurate general ledger across all operating companies. This position is responsible for preparing financial reports that track the organization's assets, liabilities, profits, losses, tax liabilities, and other financial activities. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will oversee the daily operations of accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate processing. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to driving continuous improvement by fostering a culture of efficiency. This position reports directly to the Controller.

Position Responsibilities:

Oversee accounts payable and receivables functions ensuring the timely and accurate processing of Member statements, invoices and weekly payments.Review various reconciliations performed by accounting staff.Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and promptly address discrepancies.Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making.Coordinate and prepare for external audits, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and readily accessible.Conduct financial analyses to identify trends, inventory or budget variances, and opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the accounting operations.Provide guidance and support to accounting staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performance team environment.Serve as a technical resource for basic office equipment as needed.Perform additional duties as assigned by Controller or senior leadership.Benefits include:

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferred advancement to a senior accounting role.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a sharp attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively conveying complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Demonstrate ability to supervise accounting staff.Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Salary Description

$80,000 - $85,000 annually
